Citation Coach — Bluebook citation generator and checker
Build a citation from structured fields, check one you have already written, or paste a whole footnote list and have every entry checked in order. 62 source types, the Bluebook's 22d edition, in both practitioner (Bluepages) and academic (Whitepages) form.
What it does
- Generate — pick a source type, fill in the fields, get the citation with the rule behind every component.
- Check — paste a citation and see what is wrong with it and which rule says so.
- Check a list — paste a footnote set; id. and supra are judged against the entries around them, so a short form pointing at the wrong footnote is caught.
Both citation modes
Practitioner and academic are not just typography. B3 drops the “at” before a page number, B6 lets a reporter close up, B5.3 asks for “(citation modified)” in place of “(cleaned up)”, and B4 restricts supra — so the citation text itself differs.
